WHY MODULE TRAINING?

This module based learning environment serves three main purposes:

1. Modules allow you to learn one service at a time so you can easily and affordably build your career.
2. The class scheduling allows individuals an opportunity to work during their education and to balance the financial commitment with their lifestyles.
3. Individuals wishing to take only specific modules can do so without committing to a program. Simply register for the modules you are interested in.

 

PROGRAM MODULE LENGTHS

You will note that the Program Modules vary in  hours and length. Each is made up of class time, home study and practicum hours. Practicum hours, as displayed per course, provide you real-time service experience. They also properly prepare you to confidently take your place in the Beauty Industry.

 

CLASS SIZE

We keep our class sizes small so you get as much one-on-one training as you need. And, you will be influenced by industry experts from all across Canada, all dedicated to your success.

 

MODULE CERTIFICATES

You will earn a certificate with the successful completion of each individual module (class time, home study and practicum). After you complete your practicum hours, you can enter that particular modality with confidence. Afterward, you can continue training in other services as you can afford the time and financial commitment.

 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The completion of individual courses allow you to perform specific disciplines in a number of employment environments. An 80% grade will earn you your course certificate; the practical experience provides skills and confidence to enter into these various fields of employment.

ESTHETIC'S PROFESSIONAL

Students may wish to become an Esthetic's Professional. You can do so by completing 18 core modules (marked in red) and 3 electives (marked in blue). Upon completion, you can choose to write your provincial Esthetic's license .

 

HOW INDUSTRY MEASURES YOUR EDUCATION

If you choose to take full Esthetic's training through continuous learning,  there are a few things you need to know to understand how the industry measures the success of your education.

1. The Beauty Council of Canada has a testing model designed to certify that you meet the standards in Esthetic's training. You will be prepared for it upon completing your program (18 courses an 3 electives). It is not mandatory for you to be able to work in the industry, however it is in your best interest to demonstrate your professionalism and enable mobility to other regulated jurisdictions.
2. Another measure of success will be the swift integration into a Spa environment. Too often we hear about how graduates don't seem to have the skill-set expected.

 

Queen City College's training modules surpass the curriculum of traditional esthetic's programming. Your Practicum hours will sharpen your skills as you learn in a real spa environment with an industry expert at your side to guide you. This is your opportunity to SHINE and learn under the mentorship of seasoned professionals.

 

WHERE CAN I WORK IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY

There are many employment opportunities in the beauty industry and Spa environments with the varied skill sets you can achieve with Career Training from QCC. Across the gambit from service provider to Purchaser, to Manager and beyond.

 

There are however,  a number of exciting opportunities outside of that environment. Just to name a few, consider a Cruise Line, any Resort or hotel Spa.  You could enjoy a career as a Representative for skin-care line. Or, consider a position as a Dermatologist's assistant; Beauty Editor or Beauty Therapist. You can start your own home-based business, work in product marketing, purchasing or beauty consulting. Many soar to the heights of pursuing a career in the medical community as a paramedical Esthetician.  As you can see the opportunities are endless. Your future starts here!

 

YOUR EDUCATION

The Beauty Industry follows the MILADY Fundamentals of Esthetic's. These protocols, treatments and procedures are standard throughout all esthetic's training institutes. Ours is no exception.

 

You will graduate with the practical hands on training you may not otherwise have the opportunity to get. You may have the opportunity to train in an actual Spa. This gives you the skills to be an immediate asset to future employers.
